Lisa C. Gary, PhD, MPH, MS
Dr. Lisa C. Gary serves as KHA's Senior Director of Research and Evaluation. In that role, she provides expert technical assistance on program evaluation and successful implementation of stakeholder and community engagement with community leaders, providers, and consumers; manages a cross-functional team to produce technical assistance tools and materials for clients; and directs the program management for a client’s evidence-based practice portfolio of projects.
Prior to joining KHA, Dr. Gary was Senior Director at Westat in Rockville, Maryland, where she led an interdisciplinary team to produce the program evaluation report for the “Patient-Centered Care Collaboration (PCCC) to Improve Minority Health Initiative” (funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services).
For seven years, Dr. Gary was an assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Gary holds a PhD in Health Policy and Epidemiologic Methods from Yale University; an MPhil in Health Policy from Yale University; an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan; an MS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan; and a BS in Mathematics from Spelman College. Dr. Gary was a National Institute of Mental Health Pre-doctoral Fellow at Yale University. Dr. Gary possesses advanced data analysis skills, including proficiency in SAS, SPSS, and STATA statistical software and has published extensively in the fields of health policy and epidemiology.
Dr. Gary lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
